The New York Mindfulness Group is a coalition of experienced health care practitioners from various disciplines trained in the practice of utilizing Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).   Our interactive programs are modeled on the program developed at the University of Massachusetts Medical School over the past three decades.  Research and practice supports the efficacy of MBSR in addressing many of the health and lifestyle problems created by the stress of fast paced modern living and our characteristic responses to these challenges.
 
Stress itself is not inherently detrimental.  It is how we interpret and handle stress that can cause problems.  It is possible to both reduce stress and redirect our energy to produce positive results.   By learning to mobilize your inner resources through the practice of powerful awareness and attention techniques,  you can train yourself to take charge of your life and cope more effectively and creatively with the challenges you face.
